Intuos4 Tablet and Issue 4 and Art Frustration
Drawing with a tablet sucks. . .well, I’m saying that because I’m still learning how to use it. The concept is awesome, but trying to digitally ink straight lines is a nightmare and I hate steep learing curves! I can pretty much pencil what I want and be happy about it especially given the fact that I have no professional art experience. I do know a lot about anatomy given my educational background and bodybuilding experience. Drawing figures just makes sense to me. It’s everything else that’s really getting to me i.e. software/hardware settings, line thickness, brushes to use, etc. It just makes me want to punch a hole in the wall. I will continue to get comfortable with the tablet as I know it will save me time in the future. The good news is that there is alot of action in this issue. It’s just a matter of getting it finished so I can move on with the story. I will say that I have a greater appreciation for true artists and their craft. The other issue that I have is competing life requirements such as my job, weight training, and trying to maintain a semblance of a personal life. Oh wait and there’s a short film project pending (DP is all tied up right now as we’re waiting on a date) as well! The project holding pattern has freed up more time for me to keep plugging away at the comic. Well. . .back to putting my head down an drudging through the mire. Get Some!
